Assurance
Assurance is often viewed as project health checks. These project reviews are typically done at the end of a project. While this is invaluable in the contribution of continuous learning, it provides no assurance about in flight projects. In addition, it looks at point situations rather than assessing an initiative contextually. At Sandwalker & Associates we can provide a range of assurance activities designed to provide stakeholders with assurance around their investments. We can adjust the review to the need, with coverage of multiple areas including:
- Strategic IT review
- Strength of initial business case and project initiation
- Alignment to business strategy and operating model
- Effectiveness of controls
- Effectiveness of governance structures
- Suitability of project management
- Skill can capability of project teams
- Project structure and alignment to stated objectives
- Overall project reviews
Our focus is working constructively to assess material status. Where a project is in great shape we will
advise this and not nit-pick on the inevitable trade-off decisions that have no adverse bearing on project outcomes. Equally, where a project is off track we will work with our customers to establish appropriate corrective action plans. If it is deemed that there is no strategic or economic value in continuing a project we can advise on what can be salvaged.
